Today, we focus on vigilance. Good parents and teachers never give up on children. They find a way to reach them. Day, in and day out, they show up and do their best. And they don't mind repeating themselves often if they have to.

Here's a shortcut that helps me realize that there are only three main rules in my world. Since I often repeat and sing them, it makes a lasting impression.


Along with the three rules, we also have limits, but they tend to be more flexible and situational.


Feel free to copy my design. I'll be sure to attach it for you. Or create your own. Make sure you have a plan for what to do or say when the rules get broken.

Nanci J Bradley is an early childhood and family educator, author, teacher, family aerobics instructor, and all-around fun-loving person. She believes in the power of sleep, healthy eating, lifelong learning, and most of all, PLAY! She studied early childhood ed at Triton College and received her BS in education in 1986 from NIU.
