DIY Mother's Day Card They'll Keep Forever

Updated: May 9

How would you like a simple and fun Mother's Day gift that your kids will enjoy making and Mom will cherish forever?

Here's your free template! Make as many copies as you like. I removed the date so you can add the correct year. I've been using this activity as a preschool teacher for 20+ years, and parents tell me they still have them years later!

INSTRUCTIONS This works best with kids from 3-8. To do the activity, print the pages here and then ask the kids the questions individually. Write them down or let them write their own if they can. Then let them color. Punch holes on the sides and let the kids pick colored ribbons to tie and curl. I designed this activity to be super quick and easy for you and super special for the lucky moms who get them.

As a parent, do you ever look at your children in exasperation, trying to find the right words? Words that don't sound like the developmentally inappropriate phrases you may or may not have heard as a child. Ridiculous phrases such as:

Wipe that smile off your face.

Who do you think you are?

Stop that! You'll crack your skull open!

Don't do that, you don't want to be like your Aunt Blanch!

and/or

What's wrong with you?

Regardless of what you heard as a child, it would be optimal if the words used with our children actually worked.

At our nonprofit organization, we don't point fingers at anyone or assign blame. We provide options for parents and caregivers. And we try our best to make them easy for you to consume.

When you join our community of people who care and share, you'll have access to a couple of tools for working with young children ages 0-8. Both tools are free, and you'll get to see them as soon as you sign up.
